Located in the Sonoma Mountain region, Benziger Family Winery has become a leader in biodynamic and organic wine making practices. With their 85-acre certified Demeter estate serving in part as a research and teaching ground, it's not hard to understand how they became one of the pioneers of biodynamic farming in California wine country.
The 2005 growing year started off wet, but then stabilized, resulting in an extended season that yielded great flavor intensity. A well-crafted wine, Tribute can lay down for up to twenty years. Of course, that assumes you will want to wait that long.
The 2005 Tribute is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot. Befitting of a signature creation, the 2005 Tribute represents the fifth vintage of this one-of-a-kind wine, which was the first Demeter-certified biodynamic wine made in Sonoma County.
This wine will retail for between $60 - $75 where available.
