Robert Sinskey Vineyards - 2006 Los Carneros Pinot Noir

Located in the heart of Napa Valley on the Silverado Trail, Robert Sinskey Vineyards is all about making great biodynamic wines to pair with food.  Influenced heavily by Robert Sinskey's wife, chef and culinary author Maria Helm Sinskey, visitors to the California winery's tasting room are encouraged to sample current releases along with a food pairing selected specifically for each offering.  Produced from grapes grown from multiple vineyards, Sinskey's Los Carneros Pinot Noir is its most widely distributed wine outside of the winery's tasting room.  369 barrels were produced from the 2006 vintage.

Paired with a carmelized onion tartlet with prosciutto and gruyere cheese during our visit, the flavors of cranberry, raspberry and orange in the '06 Los Carneros proved to be a great match for the buttery crust flavor in the tartlet.  We found it to be both very fruit-forward and food-friendly as advertised.  At $38 per bottle (winery price), it's also a great value as compared to the single vineyard selections.

Available at the winery and many online stores while supplies last, otherwise available through many distributors across the U.S.

About $38 for a 750 ml bottle.
