Organic from the day they were first planted in 1999, Bergstrom's 15 acres of exclusively Pinot Noir grapes in the Dundee Hills of Oregon have also been certified biodynamic® since 2004. Owned by John and Karen Bergström, their grapes have quickly become part of a Pinot tradition that has become a signature of the Willamette Valley. Bergström's 2007 vintage for Pinot was reportedly similar to 1993 and 2005 in terms of a wine with more muscle than in years that were more dry. Can be drunk now through 2022 (personally, we'd prefer not to wait that long).
Dundee Hills, where the Bergström Vineyard Pinot is planted, is considered by many to be an anchor of the Willamette Valley Pinot movement. The ancient volcanic soils of the vineyard produce a wine with an earthiness and silky structure, and this is a red that can be drunk young, or saved for that special occasion in the future.
Available now at the winery and website, but also from numerous fine wine merchants across the U.S.
