Located in Healdsburg in the heart of the Dry Creek Valley, Michel-Schlumberger wines have been certified organic since 2007. The 100-acre estate has earned a reputation for producing excellent Bordeaux varieties, but also produces many other quality wines across the spectrum. Committed to local community culture as well as the environment, Michel-Schlumberger donates 50% of all Estate Tour & Tasting fees to the Healdsburg Education Foundation. Released in February, 2008, and 100% barrel fermented, the 2006 La Brume Chardonnay features hints of orange blossom, ginger and pear. A total of 1,472 cases were produced.
Made from Dijon clones planted on a steep hillside, the '06 La Brume features an attractive spiciness that simply calls out for food. At the time of our tasting room visit, it was paired with a Carmody cheese made in nearby Petaluma. No too oaky, we found this Chardonnay to be wonderfully light (visit our blog to read more about our tasting room experience).
Available at the winery estate, as well as their website. Also available outside of California through various distributors and online stores.
