Snoqualmie Winery 2007 'Naked' Riesling

Located in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA of Washington’s Columbia Valley (in the south-central portion of the state), Snoqualmie Winery has been in operation since 1985.  A supporter of premium wines made from organically-grown grapes for several years, as of 2008, the winery now has
the largest certified organic vineyard in the state of Washington. Winemaker Joy Andersen and her team take an active role in not only farming organically, but extending those sustainable practices to production as well.  The winery produces an annual sustainability report detailing its progress and improvements made on these fronts, as well as
its goals for the coming year.  The 2007 Naked Riesling is part of the ‘Naked’ line of wines made from 100% organically grown grapes, and certified by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA), an accredited agent for the USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP).

Warm, sunny days and cool evening temperatures combined to create a Riesling with bright acidity and aromas of spicy apple and pear.  Similar to the 2005 season, low rainfall contributed to intense flavors and an overall smaller crop for 2007.  Received an 89 point rating from Wine Spectator. 12.3% alcohol by volume.

Available from the winery while supplies last, as well as where distributed nationwide.

About $12 for a 750ml. bottle.
