Great Scot Organic Pale Ale (Caledonian Brewery)

Made in Edinburgh, Scotland, Great Scot Organic Pale Ale is brewed by the Caledonian Brewery, or 'The Caley', as it's known by locals.  With roots dating back to 1869, the Caledonian is believed to be the only survivor of over 40 breweries that operated in Edinburgh during the 19th century.  Certified organic by the USDA, as well as The Soil Association, Great Scot is brewed with organically grown barley and hops.  Pours a bit hazy, with orange and golden brown hints, and a slightly heavier foam than you might associate with a pale ale.  Found most commonly in a 16.9 ounce bottle.  5% ABV.

This everyday beer would make a fine house brew in any eco-friendly domicile.  Smooth taste prevents it from overpowering your food, but can also be drank solo.  Found commonly at the specialty retail grocery chain, this beer is all about the no frills values you expect from Trader Joe's.

We found plenty at our neighborhood Trader Joe's.

About $3 for a 16.9 ounce bottle.
