Headquartered in New York, but distilled and bottled in Minnesota, Crop Organic Vodka is perhaps known best for its crisp and clean taste. Certified organic by the USDA, each batch is distilled only as many times as necessary to remove impurities or unwanted flavors. Their distillation process is so efficient that no charcoal filtering is necessary. In addition to the artisanal blend, Crop also offers vodkas flavored with cucumber (martini, anyone?), and tomato (perhaps a Bloody Mary is more your speed?). The artisanal blend is 80 proof, with the two flavored versions each coming in at 70 proof.
We tasted Crop against several of its organic contemporaries in an Earth Day 2009 tasting, and were impressed with the full-bodied silkiness in the mouth, as well as a smoother than expected finish. Would definitely work well in a cocktail, or on its own as well.
